    • 1). Prune contaminated areas with the pruning scissors. This may require extensive pruning the first time, but roses are accustomed to that. Pruning also increases ventilation around plants and helps keep future mildew infestations at bay.

    • 2). Combine the baking soda, neem oil and water in the 1-gallon sprayer and mix well.

    • 3). Spray the mixture onto all rose bushes, making sure all surfaces are covered. Spray nearby plants and wooden items like fences and outdoor furniture as well so prevent re-infestation.

    • 4). Spray with this mixture weekly during the growing season and on persistent infestations.
