How to Fix Distorted Sound in a Sony MiniDisc
- 1). Record in LP2 or SP mode if you hear distorted sound intermittently when recording in LP4 mode. Stop the recorder. Press the "Jog" dial, then rotate it to make your selections: select "Rec Set," press the "Jog" dial and select "Rec Mode." Press the "Jog" dial again and select "LP2" for LP2 Stereo with a recording time of approximately 160 minutes or "SP" for SP stereo with a recording time of approximately 80 minutes. Press the "Jog" dial when finished.
- 2). Move your MiniDisc away from devices, such as TVs and radios, that give off magnetic interference if you still hear distorted sound. Plug your MiniDisc into another outlet if you still hear distorted sound.
- 3). Set the Audio Out to a different parameter if you still hear distorted sound. Press the "Jog" dial, then rotate it to make your selections. Select "Useful" and press the "Jog" dial; select "Audio Out" and press the "Jog" dial; select "HeadPhone" and press the "Jog" dial when finished.
