Candy Cane Reindeer

• Little hands can easily manipulate the materials needed to create a candy cane preschool craft reindeer. Using a wrapped candy cane, instruct children to twist a brown pipe cleaner around the top loop of the cane and turn several times to secure. Each end of the pipe cleaner can be spiral wrapped around the length of the pipe cleaner to create curled "antlers." Finish with glued on "google eyes" and a red pompom nose.
  
  

Candy Cane Jingle Bells

• Supply each child with two pieces of festive 1/2-inch flat holiday ribbon long enough to cover the cane to the curve. Using a wrapped candy cane, secure one end of the ribbon to the bottom of the candy cane with invisible tape and spiral wrap the ribbon all the way up the cane to the bend in the candy stick. Repeat with the second ribbon, spiral wrapping in the opposite direction to create a crisscross pattern. Help children tie a secure knot and bow. Using embroidery floss, thread several jingle bells and secure with a knot; tie the bells to the candy cane just below the bow.
