5 Time Saving Tips To Increase Your Output

101 19
I'm jotting down these time saving tips as much for myself as well as you. It's all too easy to get bogged down with the simplest things, that, if better organised, can save you some time.

Do you have days when you're trying to get something done, but you end up running around like a Chinese plate juggler?

I've had too many days like that!

It could be too many distractions, or looking for something that I know I have somewhere, and going round in circles trying to find it. Whatever the reasons are, it does affect our focus.

By "sacrificing" a little time to become better organised, we're much better equipped to complete our daily tasks faster and more efficiently. And it doesn't take an awful lot of effort!

Now, I'm not suggesting doing something as formal as drawing up a daily planner, although that's a good idea. For me it's more about the little common-sense things that we easily overlook, that can make all the difference.

Time Saving Tips To Increase Your Output .....

1) Folders - Create folders with appropriate names for all your files, graphics, PDFs, videos etc. Putting your documents in folders saves you scrolling all over the place trying to find something.

2) Distractions - I find that my biggest distraction is emails. So, unless I'm waiting for something important, my email notifications are turned off. If it's not important, then there's no hurry.

3) Unsubscribe - If you're still getting lots of emails of no value from marketers you've subscribed to, get rid of them! It's just laziness to delete rather than take the time to unsubscribe (I've done it) but taking a minute to do that cuts down on future distractions, so it's worth doing.

4) Notes - Do you take notes when you're watching a video or attending a webinar? There's nothing worse than being surrounded by sheets of paper or post-it notes, especially if you haven't given them a title to jog your memory. Best thing to do is, after the video or webinar, put your notes on to a text document, with appropriate heading, and save in a folder. Get rid of the paper.

5) Clean Up Your Desktop - This is something I've got into the habit of doing. At least once a week I take a few minutes to go through all the suff saved on my desktop, and delete what I don't need. Let's face it, we do amass a lot, don't we? But the thing is, how much of what we download do we actually use? Put it this way, if you downloaded a PDF 3 months ago, and haven't done anything with it, or even worse, haven't looked at it, are you likely to NEED it? Delete!

These are just 5 time saving tips to increase your output that we can all do with very little effort. Make no mistake, being organised and having no distractions CAN have a positive effect not only on your productivity, but also your creativity, and quite possibly on your bottom line earnings.
