Have you ever had a problem and you kept it to yourself? Have you had a situation where things just weren't right and you were too embarrassed to talk about it to anyone? There are times when we feel that we have done something so terrible that no one would understand.
There are things that happen to us that we may feel we deserved because of our actions or lack of action.
There are things that we say that we regret later on and then keep it all in because we are too proud to bring it up again or afraid that we won't be accepted if we talk about it.
1 Peter 5:6-10 "So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil.
He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith.
Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are.
In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus.
So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.
" Harboring things and keeping things inside is not good for us.
We have many options to talk to others about things and we have God who wants us to go to him with our worries and our cares.
If our fear is so great that we believe no one else will understand, God will.
If we something that we are embarrassed to talk about to others, we can talk to God.
If we say or do something we believe separates us from others, we have God to go to and he will listen and help us.
When we try to go it alone, we lose out on learning from others and learning from God.
We are easy prey for the devil who is waiting to take us under his wing when we are at are lowest low.
However, when we lean on others and God, we learn and we grow.
We learn about ourselves.
We learn about others.
But most importantly, we learn how great our God is.
