• Jacuzzi's history dates to 1915, when seven brothers of a family of Italian immigrants designed products ranging from bathtubs to spas, showers and whirlpool baths. Jacuzzi has become so popular over the years that these accessories have become synonymous with this brand name. Thus, when referring to inground Jacuzzi parts, the parts could be components of any brand of inground hot tub or spa. Furthermore, most inground hot tubs and spas have similar parts and components.
  
  

Motor Pump

• A motor pump is an important part of an inground Jacuzzi. In a Jacuzzi, the pump is used to create the bubbled "jets" that many find so relaxing. The motor pump delivers low-pressure, high-volume water combined with air, to create relaxing bubbles. A Jacuzzi has to have a motor of suitable strength to pump water to the inground structure when the Jacuzzi is turned on. The appropriate size pump depends on the size of the Jacuzzi. Usually, in an inground Jacuzzi, this motor pump is connected by a wire to the water source, so that it flows into the inground tub.
  
  

Heater and Filter

• The heater of the inground Jacuzzi heats the water up to a comfortable temperature. Most heaters are electric powered, although gas, propane or solar heaters are sometimes possible. The heater heats the water up to a temperature that you set, which can be upwards of 100 degrees F. The filter cleans the heated water of bacteria and other chemicals before it reaches the tub.
  
  

The Tub

• The tub is the part of the Jacuzzi that actually holds the water and is set in the ground. Tubs can be concrete, ceramic or have a traditional liner like swimming pools do. Tubs can also be of almost any size, and some hold as many as several thousand gallons of water. The larger the tub, the more it will cost to heat the water. Tubs also have seating--usually in the form of benches--so you can sit and relax in your hot tub.
