A Plus Size Figure in a Small World
If you look at magazines, you will see more buff and tanned men, slim and gorgeous women but again, no plus size figure men or women in sight.
But seriously, is the world really made up of only slim women and buff men with wasp-waist and six packs? I hardly think so.
Even though shopping malls are still carrying size zeros and possibly even negative ones and twos, that doesn't mean a majority of the population are size zeroes or negative ones or twos.
God forbid that we should all look like walking skeletons.
That would be straight out of a horror movie, or Thriller.
Nope, based on recent research, it seems that there are more people with plus size figure than those with skeleton sizes.
But still, these skinny people (well, some of them, not all) tend to look down on plus size people and even sneer at them.
They will make deragotary remarks and if you search the internet, you will find thousands, if not millions, of fat jokes aimed at making plus size people feel inferior to the skinny people.
Is that really necessary? Are plus size people more inferior to the skinny people? Well, NO.
More often than not, we are not as mean and probably we work more than the skinny people.
This is because we are not too busy making fun of other people because of their sizes while those skinny people are too busy thinking up jokes and comments and remarks to put down plus size people that they hardly have time for real legitimate work.
Funnily enough, what with such rampant size discrimination going on, there is no one word to describe it.
There is sexism for those who discriminate based on sexes.
Then there is racism for discrimination against another race.
So, what about discrimination against size? I think there should be one main word for it and it should very well be called 'size-ism'.
Of course, the word does not exist right now but I guess soon they will use this word.
Living in a world full of misconceptions and seemed to be led by the skinnies, plus size people must rise above all these cruel jokes, so-called clever remarks or even nagging and scoldings from so-called concerned relatives.
It is time that all those with plus size figure to stand up firm for themselves and start answering all those cruel jokes, remarks and comments with real meanness in it.
After all, if the skinny people are at liberty to be rude to large sized people, it is only right that plus size figured people have the right to do the same back.
Of course there are plenty of available remarks and insults for you to find online so you will never be short of a witty comebacks.
You will be able to tell anyone who called you fat this: "Yes, I am fat but you are ugly and stupid.
I can diet and lose the weight but there is no cure for you, so sad.
