Dimensions

• The Gateway 3200S motherboard adopts the microATX set of motherboard size specifications, which is the smaller version of the Advanced Technology Extended standard. The Augsburg motherboard, however, measures 9.6 square inches (243.84 square millimeters), while the Seabreeze motherboard is slightly smaller at 9.6 by 8.20 inches (243.84 by 208.28 mm).
  
  

Memory Support

• Each Gateway 3200S motherboard contains dual inline memory module slots, which are based on first-generational Double Data Rate Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory architecture, or DDR SDRAM. The Augsburg, however, gets four DIMM slots while the Seabreeze possesses only half that number. Also, the Augsburg surpasses the Seabreeze in maximum memory support and access speed. The former accepts up to 4 gigabytes of RAM with 333 MHz or 400 MHz, while the latter supports up to 1 GB with 266 MHz or 333 MHz.
  
  

Processor Support

• The Gateway 3200S motherboard not only supports Intel Celeron CPUs, but the then-premier Pentium 4 chips as well. The Seabreeze processor standard is a CPU in a Socket 478 with a data transfer rate of 400 or 533 megahertz. The computer chip fitted on the Augsburg motherboard, however, has to come with an LGA775 (the immediate successor of Socket 478) and possess a 533- or 800-MHz data transfer speed.
  
  

Chipset and Audio/Video Support

• The Augsburg motherboard of the Gateway 3200S desktop PC usually comes with an Intel 915G chipset that consists of an Intel 82915G graphics memory controller hub, an Intel 82801FB input/output controller hub and a 4-megabit Firmware hub. The Seabreeze's Intel 845GL chipset has the same Firewire and I/O centers, but replaces the graphics memory controller with an Intel 82845GL. The Augsburg has an integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 graphics controller for the 3200S's video and graphics and Realtek ALC860 sound driver for audio. For the Seabreeze, it's an Intel Extreme Graphics controller and Analog Devices 1981B audio driver.
