    • Decorate your table linens with creative centerpieces that add warmth and personality to your space. Depending on your home's décor the color choices are endless, and there are many textures that can be incorporated to provide visual interest, such as glass, silk and wooden pieces. Candles, flowers, fruit and greenery are classic toppers for table linens, and there are many creative ways you can use them.

    Glass Bowls and Vases

    • Glass can be used to top all colors and textures of table linens. Since glass is clear, the color scheme is universal and can be used with any home décor. A glass bowl or vase filled with water, flowers and tea light candles adds an interesting touch to any table cover. You can use any type of flowers with the leaves and stems cut off. Fill the bowl with water first and then place tea light candles and flowers inside. They will float on the surface. This table topper is both creative and beautiful.

    Wooden Fruit Bowl

    • A wooden bowl filled with fruit and nuts is always an elegant table topper. The fruits can be of all shapes and colors. Apples, plums, lemons and oranges create brilliant colors against wood. Do not fill the bowl with fruit that is too ripe or the juices will seep into the bowl. Incorporate a few large walnuts in the bowl as well. The depth of the bowl is not as important as the width; the bowl should be wide enough to fill the center of the table. Place a lace table mat or doily underneath the fruit bowl. All of these textures will work well together. The lace adds a delicate touch, the wood adds warmth, and the fruit adds a punch of color.

    Potted Plants

    • Using potted plants adds a warm, vibrant touch to any table linen. Purchase several plants in different shapes, sizes and colors to add variety. The pots can be any color, but it is best to use colors that match the color palette of your home and furnishings. Tie colorful, textured ribbon into a bow around each pot to add interest, or use twine for a more rustic look. Keep in mind each plant's requirement for sunlight when considering where it will be placed.
