How to Make a Dresden Plate Quilt Using Fusible Interfacing
- 1). Iron the fabric if this is needed. Using a quilt block pattern, cut the quilt pieces and fusible interfacing in matching sizes so that each quilt piece has an interfacing to go with it. Make sure they are exact sizes with no overlap.
- 2). Arrange the quilt pieces on the quilt top material with fusible interface material sandwiched in between. Make sure that the web meets the edges of each piece and that they are arranged evenly so the pattern is correct. Pin the pieces in place.
- 3). Iron the pieces as directed by the fusible interface instructions. Remove the pins as you go. Make sure each piece is completely ironed so the edge of the material does not lift up.
- 4). Assemble as many blocks as you need, depending on whether this is a wall hanging or a quilt for a bed. Sew the blocks together to form the top. Align the top, batting and backing and pin the layers in place. Quilt as desired.
- 5). Apply edging to the quilt in the form of bias tape or a fabric strip to form a border.
