How to Trim a Home Rotating Christmas Tree Stand
- 1). Choose the right size stand for the Christmas tree you are displaying. Home rotating Christmas tree stands usually come in two sizes: small and large. Consider the height of your tree and the size of the tree's trunk. Make sure the stand has a wide enough neck to hold the diameter of your tree's trunk and that the base is heavy enough so the tree will not tip over. Also, the size of the motor in the stand must have enough power to rotate the size and weight of the tree you intend to display. If you have a real Christmas tree, make sure the water reservoir is large enough so that you don't have to fill it every day. When in doubt of the size you need, pick the larger size as stands that are too small will be unsafe.
- 2). Choose a rotating tree stand with an electrical outlet directly in the rotating platform. This important feature will keep your light cords from wrapping around the tree as it rotates.
- 3). Put the Christmas lights on first, followed by the garland. Remember, with a home rotating Christmas tree stand, all sides will be seen so all decorating must be even and uniform. Arrange the decorations from the bottom to the top and from the inside out. Place ornaments in the middle of the branches as well as on the edges so the tree appears fuller and will be balanced. Unique ornaments should be spread throughout the tree. Decorations can follow a theme or match the decor of the room where the tree is located.
- 4). Use additional features that are not available with traditional Christmas tree stands. Many home rotating Christmas tree stands have models that play music while rotating. Make sure this does not conflict with the Christmas lights, as many Christmas lights play music as well. Vary the speed of the rotation; some models come with this feature and can be adjusted to complement the mood and theme of the tree.
