    • 1). Install the hardware to hang your swag according to directions.

    • 2). Measure your window, and add 16 inches to accommodate the swag and a new hem. Decide how far down the wall you want the swag to hang. This will tell you what size sheet you need to use.

    • 3). Place your sheet wrong side up on your cutting surface. Cut the wide header off your sheet. Fold the raw edge over once and then again onto the wrong side of your sheet. Iron it flat, and then slip stitch it so that it is secure and your stitches do not show.

    • 4). Fold your sheet into accordion pleats running horizontally along your swag. Experiment to see how deep you want the pleats to be. Find the center of the sheet. Measure one-half the width of the window to the left of the center and add 6 inches. Twist your pipe-cleaner around the fabric to secure the pleats. Repeat this process measuring from the right of the center of the sheet.

    • 5). Hang your swag according to the directions that came with your hardware. Adjust your pleats according to your taste.
