Meditation for Beginners
In a sense mediation is always for beginners, because every time you meditate you are beginning the process again, not just as a new experience, but as a new entry into the world of awareness that meditation brings.
This isn't just about wordplay.
The whole process of meditating is to bring about anew level of awareness, a new insight into who we are as people, a new and fresh beginning, that's what it does, even if we are not always aware of it.
The phrase 'meditation ' for beginners has a different meaning in the sense that it is about how do you reassure people that are about to start meditating that it is safe to do so, and isn't going to convert them to some new religion, or isn't going to brainwash them.
People have fears about lots of things, sometimes healthy, sometimes not.
Often this is based on a fear of the unknown, sometimes it is based on misinformation, ie people have been told something about the process that simply isn't true.
Either way, the answer is the same to begin with, that you allay people's fears by providing as much information as you are able in as clear a way as you are able.
Information that is factually accurate, easy to understand and truthful - that means if there are any dangers or risks, you tell them.
People need to trust the information you give them, so being up front about everything is really important.
There aren't really any dangers to meditation, unless you take it to extremes as certain cults do, but there is sometimes a desire to create a bit of a mystique around it - that is probably not wise - people like clarity, and it engenders trust, really important for people new to the subject.
