There are a lot of reasons to throw a "Happy Trails" party. Perhaps someone you know is moving, heading off to college or taking a job in a new state. Whatever the reason is for your party, the first step is to make an appropriate invitation to herald the news. An invitation is like a first impression that really sets the tone and mood of the event, so capture everyone's interest by making it grand. - Feature the images of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans on the cover of your invitation, the famous singers of the song, "Happy Trails to You." Glue a postcard or photo to the front of a blank card, or look for a card printed with their pictures. Look for stickers of talk bubbles at stores where scrapbooking supplies are sold. Give Roy and Dale talk bubbles so they can invite people to the party. Write things like, "Come wish (friend's name) happy trails!"
- If your friend's journey is going to take her overseas, craft a message in a bottle invitation and host a theme party. Write or print the party details on a piece of parchment paper and roll it up. Slip it inside a clean, plastic bottle; add some confetti and glitter to the bottle to make it more festive. Place a label on the bottle with the recipient's name. You can pack each bottle in a box to mail it or hand-deliver them.
- Purchase a package of post cards featuring the famous road Route 66. Across the front of the postcard, find a spot to write, "(Friend's name) is hittin' the road!" Write or print "Come help us say goodbye," and include all of the party details on the back of the postcards. If you prefer, you can print Route 66 images onto a blank card face and write the details inside.
