How Do I Remove the Black Borders Encasing a Video in Powerdirector 7?
- 1). Launch Cyberlink PowerDirector 7. Click the director's chair icon on the program menu. Choose "File" and select "Import" from the fly-out menu. A file selection window will load. Browse for the letterboxed video you wish to crop. Select the item and click the "Open" button to import the media into the application.
- 2). Return to the director's chair icon. Choose "Edit" and select "Aspect Ratio" from the fly-out menu. Select the "16:9" option.
- 3). Drag the imported letterboxed video from the clip library onto the project timeline. Right-click on the footage and select "Set Aspect Ratio" from the fly-out menu. A "Clip Aspect Ratio Settings" window will load.
- 4). Click "The Aspect Ratio of the Video is 4:3" and open the drop-down menu. Select "Use Crop to convert to 16:9 aspect ratio" and click "OK."
- 5). Return to the director's chair icon. Choose "File" and select "Export" from the fly-out menu. Follow the on-screen directions to encode the cropped letterboxed video. Select a desired output format and choose a storage location for the media. A confirmation message will display when the cropped letterboxed video has been successfully encoded.
