Decorating for the Seasons

As you prepare to decorate your house for different seasons, keep a few things in mind to make your life a little easier. Rather than decorate everywhere with everything possible, choose a few areas to keep festive for the seasons. This cuts down on storage needs and overall work. You can have a particular shelf with seasonal knickknacks, or a calendar display with thematic elements. Changing the clothing of a stuffed animal to reflect the seasons is a nice, safe way to decorate if you have little ones at home. To cut down on storage, consider revamping and reusing your crafts. Many crafts can be exchanged or reused for different seasons. One of the best examples is exchanging your wreath from one season to another by removing the flowers and replacing them with new flowers appropriate for that season.

The Pros and Cons for Live and Artificial Plants

A decision to make as you decorate your home is whether you want to use silk plants and flowers or real ones. There are some great pros and cons to each option. Make sure that if you choose live plants, sunlight and water are readily available to them. If there are a lot of insects where you live, real plants and flowers may not be a good idea, because critters often make their homes there. However, there is a degree of fulfillment you get when caring for living things that you cannot have with artificial ones. Silk or artificial plants are great for storage when you are not using them, such as wreaths or seasonal items. They also are lighter and easier to move. The biggest factor to look at is how life-like it appears. Artificial plants can be beautiful, but if it is obvious that they are not real, they lose some of their charm. The clearly fake look can be quite unattractive.

Using Silk Tulips as Dcor

One of the best loved silk flower varieties is the tulip. Tulips classic look and tall, thin stems with long delicate leaves make them readily identifiable. Tulips can meet a variety of home decor needs. Tulips are unique in that they are not stuck in a certain classification in terms of festivities or a particular time of year. In contrast, roses belong to the world of romance and appreciation, and should not necessarily be used for other decorative purposes (such as a just because bouquet). Because of their long slender design, tulips require very little space to occupy and to beautify. Another decorative benefit to tulips is that they look gorgeous on their own, but they also compliment flower arrangements with multiple types of flowers.
