How Do I Install Ink Cartridges in a Canon iP4000?
- 1). Turn on the Canon iP4000 if the device is not on. Allow it to power up for about 30 seconds.
- 2). Gently lift the cover of the unit with your hands. Lift only the top cover of the printer.
- 3). Wait until the print head moves to the center of the unit. It automatically moves to this position, allowing you access to all the cartridges. Do not try to move the print head manually, or remove a cartridge before this part stops and the light turns green.
- 4). Remove the section of orange film on the side of the new ink cartridge. Twist off the small plastic guard on the bottom of the ink cartridge.
- 5). Remove the old ink cartridge from the ink cartridge holder with your fingers. Press the tab on the cartridge forward and then pull it up and out of the holder. Slide the new cartridge into its place. Push down on the top of the cartridge to snap it into the unit. Close the cover when finished.
