Putting up curtains can be a challenging task. But, there are a variety of easy curtain ideas you can try to effectively cover any window, and even bring some style to your room. - Make your own if you can't find a perfect pair of curtains. Head to a nearby fabric or craft store and find material that you like that blends with the rest of the room. Buy enough to fit your window, plus some extra to sew loops onto the top for hanging on a rod.
- Even if you're not a strong sewer, you can still make your own curtains. Simply buy fabric that will fit your window size, and instead of sewing loops with extra fabric, cut holes equidistant from each other atop your fabric and loop hoops or rings through. You can even use shower curtain rings, then simply hang on a basic curtain rod.
- If you want to avoid the hassle of hanging a curtain rod, or don't want to hammer big holes into your wall, try using push pins to hang curtains. Measure the fabric so that you have two even halves to cover the window and use a push pin in each corner at the top of your pieces of fabric to hang in the upper corners of your window. To pull curtains back, buy decorative rope and cinch curtains in the middle.
- For easy-to-do drapery, hang basic curtains and drape beautiful fabric over a curtain rod, hanging equally low on each side. Use pretty rope or clips to secure your fabric to the rod or loop fabric around rods to hold it up.
- Use an adjustable tension rod to hang curtains, which is also a great way to avoid wall damage as well. Make sure you have a deep enough windowsill so that a tension rod will have two sides to push against. Hang the curtain on the rod first, then adjust the rod so that it stays inside the windowsill.
