How to Use an iPod to Move Music

    • 1). Connect your iPod to your computer. Wait for iTunes to launch and sync with the iPod.

    • 2). Select your iPod icon in the "Devices" section on the left of the iTunes window. Click "Summary" in the pain pane of the window.

    • 3). Select "Manually manage music" by clicking on the check box. A pop-up window will warn you that this will disable automatic updates. Click "OK." Then click "Apply."

    • 4). Open Explorer and then navigate to your iTunes music folder. To find this location, you can click the "Edit," menu in iTunes. Then click "Preferences," and "Advanced." This will show where iTunes keeps music files on your computer.

    • 5). Locate your iPod under "Devices with Removable Storage." Then drag the iTunes music folder in Explorer onto the iPod icon.

    • 6). Eject your iPod by clicking on eject button beside your iPod icon. Then disconnect your iPod from the computer.

    • 7). Connect your iPod to another computer.

    • 8). Double-click on the iPod icon under "Devices with Removable Storage." Then drag the iTunes music folder onto the computer's desktop.
