Fear is part of the sin nature God created faith and wants us to live by faith (Habakkuk 2:4, Rom 1:17, Gal 3:11, Heb 10:38) He is not the author of fear and never intended for anyone to be in fear.
Satan is the father of fear.
It is part of his nature and we inherited his nature because of the fall of man.
Adam and Eve never felt fear until they sinned and hid from God.
Webster defines fear as being afraid, alarmed or a state of fearing the worst.
God does not want us to expect or fear the worst.
He wants us to have faith in Bible and trust him completely.
We should be in faith for good things to happen in our lives because God loves us and wants to bless us when we are obedient to Him and His Word.
What is faith? We all exercise natural or human faith every day.
When we sit down we don't test the chair to see if it will hold us.
We just sit down.
We have learned to trust our five senses.
Usually we are not consciously aware that we are exercising faith.
Natural faith is trusting in our senses, natural talents and abilities.
Natural faith is centered in the mind.
Without faith it is impossible to please God (Heb 11:6).
Natural faith does not please God.
Biblical faith does.
Biblical faith is to believe the Word no matter how things look in the natural.
The Word and the world are in direct opposition most of the time.
When our spiritual eyes are opened we can operate in the Kingdom of God and do spiritual exploits for the Lord.
We exercise and grow our faith by doing what the Word says we can do.
The idea is to start with something small and gradually stretch your faith man.
Confess the Word out loud As a believer we believe that God will supply all our need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Phil 4:19).
For this to be true it is necessary to hide the Word in our heart like David did (Psalm 119:11).
The power of God is in His Word.
The first step is to believe this scripture with your mind and start saying or confessing it out loud.
At some point as you listen to yourself say it out loud you begin to believe it in your heart and it comes alive and clicks with you.
This is when you receive it spiritually.
It is essential not to confess any of the doubts you may have in your mind.
The next step is to stay in faith and keep confessing it.
Eventually it will manifest and become a reality in your life.
A negative confession will undo the promises of God and nullify your prayers.
When you confess and believe you are standing in faith on Philippians 4:19.
Biblical faith requires us to trust a God we cannot see and believe scripture that most of the time is in opposition to what we see in the world with our eyes.
Man is primarily spirit and God meant for our spirit to be in control not our mind.
Biblical faith is centered in the spirit.
Faith overcomes fear A person cannot be in faith and fear at the same time.
One will drive out the other.
Whichever one you feed most will grow stronger.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Rom 10:17).
Grow your faith by feeding on the word daily.
God says the just shall live by faith He does not want us to live in fear.
He wants us to live by Biblical faith not natural faith.
God and His word can be trusted.
God stands behind and always keeps his word.
In closing Faith and fear are opposites.
One will drive out the other.
The one you feed the most will overcome the other.
The just shall live by faith.
Grow your Biblical faith by feeding on God's word.
Believe and confess the Word daily.
Start with something small then exercise your faith by doing what the word says you can do.
Prayer Dear Father, please give me the discipline to feed on your Word daily, confess it with my mouth, and grow my faith so I can do and receive and everything you have for me.
I ask this in the name of Jesus.
Amen.
Confession I study to show myself approved of God.
I am a workman that is not ashamed because I rightly divide the word of truth (2 Tim 2:15).
I hide the Word in my heart like David did.
I make this confession in the name of Jesus.
