Lessons From a $1.3 Billion Museum

A friend recently visited the Getty Museum in Los Angeles, and was inspired by its grandeur, its gardens, and its view, its art collection and its heritage, to buy the founder's autobiography.
Getty starts his book by quoting Lincoln: "You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
" "You cannot help the wage-earner by pulling down the wage-payer.
" "You cannot further the Brotherhood of Man by encouraging class hatred.
" "You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
" "You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn.
" "You cannot build character and courage by taking away a man's initiative.
" "You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.
" There is so much food for thought here.
Just look at the last point: "You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.
" When we can take care of ourselves in all areas we are truly free.
We are able to create, preserve and enjoy wealth at will.
We are Wealth Creators.
We are free of the vulnerability of having to take someone else's word for something because we don't know any better.
We are free of the danger of leaving our most important decisions, like our financial future, in the hands of so-called experts who may not have our best interests at heart.
We are free of the stuckness that comes from feeling powerless.
We realize that there is more to us than we thought! We can do so much more than we think we can.
We can turn ourselves into our own best consultants on tax, wealth, financial structures, investment, relationships, health, fitness, spiritual life, and everything else.
How? Firstly by wanting the sense of power and purpose that comes with being able to do something for ourselves that we never knew we could.
Secondly by committing - by taking responsibility for it.
Thirdly by educating ourselves on the topic as thoroughly as we can, taking care to choose only truly qualified and properly motivated teachers.
Fourthly, we should test our knowledge without taking risks - but only once we know all the most important and key aspects.
Fifthly we should apply it.
And finally we should watch the videos for wealth and properity - continually improving on the methods - learning more, adapting as we understand it better.
Thought - desire - commitment - learning - testing - application - Wealth.
And over all of this of course is Vision.
Having a vision for what you can do in life.
For what your purpose is here on earth.
The Getty Museum inspired my friend by showing him Getty's vision.
By showing just how much one person can achieve.
We have literally limitless potential.
It is just a matter of unlocking it!
