Easy Halloween Crafts for Kids to Make
- Teach young kids the importance of recycling by transforming plastic lids into whimsical pumpkin crafts. Wash and dry an orange plastic juice bottle lid. Cut a small square out of green craft foam and glue it to the top of the lid as a pumpkin stem. Draw a spooky jack o' lantern face on the lid using a black marker. You can also create the face by gluing on eye, nose and mouth-shaped pieces of foam.
- Create creepy bat-inspired crafts using mini pumpkins. You can use the crafts as Halloween party table decor. Cover a small pumpkin, including its stem, with black acrylic craft paint and allow it to thoroughly dry. Glue small pieces of white craft foam to the front of the pumpkin as the bat's eyes; create angry-looking pupils using a black marker. Cut two wing shapes out of black craft foam and glue a toothpick to the back of each one, keeping 1 1/2 inches of the toothpick uncovered. Insert the toothpick ends into the sides of the pumpkin to secure the wings into place.
- Create a ghost craft with a plain white paper plate. Draw a spooky ghoul face on the front of the paper plate using a black marker or craft paint and a small brush. Cut two small arm and hand shapes out of white construction paper and glue one to either side of the plate. Turn the plate over and glue long white crepe paper strips from the bottom so that they hang down. Tie a piece of white yarn into a loop and tape it to the top of the plate for hanging.
- Kids can give handmade ghosts pops to friends as sweet and scary Halloween treats. Place a white tissue over a wrapped lollipop and tie a piece of black or orange yarn under the candy to form the ghost's body. Create a ghostly face using a black marker.
