  The state of West Virginia is in the Appalachian Mountain range of the United States. While West Virginia may be more renowned for its outdoor nature-based activities, it still has a lot to offer once the sun goes down. Sound Factory

• The Sound Factory spreads over two floors. The first floor is set up for bands and DJs and the second floor is for relaxing in one of the sofas or playing a game of pool. The club is open until 2 a.m. every night of the week and has the added attraction of an in-house kitchen that is open until the same time. The club has frequent promotions with discounts on entry and beverages. Music ranges from hard dance to up-and-coming rock bands.

Club Envy

• Club Envy is in downtown Morgantown and is spread over two rooms. The main room has a resident DJ playing dance tracks from the 1980s up until the latest releases. The lounge room offers revelers the chance to relax in private booths or the communal seating area. Entrants to the club must be at least 18 years old. Those wishing to purchase alcoholic beverages must be at least 21. Entry will be refused to those wearing sportswear, work boots, ripped pants and hooded sweatshirts.

Clover Club

• The Clover Club has a large dance floor, three bars, a cafe and a games room at the back. It is open from 9 p.m. to 3.30 a.m. Fridays, and from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. Saturdays. One-off events such as foam parties and tough-man contests may start earlier. The kitchen serves food until the club closes. Music is dance-based from a resident DJ.

V Club

• The V club is primarily a live music venue that showcases both local and national bands. The club has a large indoor staged area as well as an outdoor bar that can accommodate smaller shows. As of 2010, ticket prices vary from upward of $5 and doors open around 8 p.m.
