Drying With the Sun

• 1). Gather your wood shavings and spread them thinly on a tray.
  
  
• 2). Lay the tray of shavings outside on a hot, sunny day.
  
  
• 3). Turn the shavings over frequently to promote a more even drying. Continue this process until the shavings have dried to your satisfaction.
  
  

Drying With an Oven

• 1). Preheat the oven to 100-degrees Fahrenheit. Keep the temperature low to avoid burning the wood shavings.
  
  
• 2). Spread the wood shavings out thinly on the heat-resistant tray to promote even drying.
  
  
• 3). Place the shavings in the oven for 10 minutes on one side. Remove the tray, flip the shavings and place in the oven for another 10 minutes. Repeat this process until the wood shavings are dried to your satisfaction.
