How to Fix a Water Ring on Oak
- 1). Place two or three drops of regular household ammonia on a small piece of cheesecloth or an old, white t-shirt.
- 2). Dampen the cloth with hot water. Wring it out well.
- 3). Wipe the water ring on your oak wood gently with the cloth. The water ring disappears after rubbing the area for one or two minutes.
- 1). Dampen a cotton pad with a few drops of denatured alcohol.
- 2). Sprinkle three or four drops of raw linseed oil onto the cotton pad as well.
- 3). Rub the cotton pad lightly over the water ring on the oak wood. Move the pad in the direction of the wood grain. It only takes a couple of minutes before the water ring disappears.
