How to Clean Shaw Floors
- 1). Vacuum your Shaw carpet daily or as needed. Use a vacuum cleaner with a beater bar or brush attachment to clean deep within the carpet piles. Use two to three passes of your vacuum to clean each section of the carpet, or five to seven passes for heavily soiled areas.
- 2). Blot spills immediately using a dry rag or towel. Place the towel or rag over the wet area and weigh it down with a heavy object. Leave it on the carpet until all moisture has been absorbed.
- 3). Clean stains using a mixture of equal parts vinegar and water. Combine these products in a bucket and dip a clean rag in the solution. Blot the stains with the rag without rubbing or scrubbing until all stains are removed.
- 4). Use Shaw R2X stain remover to treat tougher stains. Spray the stain remover on a clean rag and use it to blot the stain. You may need to hold the rag over the stain for several minutes so the cleaner can soak into the rug. Use a dry towel to absorb all remaining moisture once the stain is removed.
- 5). Have your Shaw carpet professionally cleaned every 12 to 18 months to remove deep stains and dirt.
- 1). Clean your tile floors weekly using a damp mop to remove dirt and dust. Add Shaw R2X Hard Surface Cleaner to water in a bucket. Apply this cleaning solution to your floor using your mop. This is no need to rinse the floor when you are done.
- 2). Wait 28 days for the grout on your Shaw floor to cure completely, then apply a grout sealer to protect it from stains. Use a paint brush or grout applicator as needed to seal these grout lines.
- 3). Reseal the grout lines on your Shaw floor every 12 to 18 months to minimize stains.
- 1). Blot spills immediately using a dry, clean cloth. Wipe away any remaining moisture once the bulk of the spill has been removed.
- 2). Clean stains with an acetone-based nail polish remover. Apply the remover to a clean cloth and use it to blot the stain. Wipe the floor with a clean, damp rag to remove remaining polish remover once this task is complete.
- 3). Vacuum the floor daily or as needed using a brush or hose attachment. You may need to vacuum more often for rooms that experience high levels of traffic.
- 4). Clean the floor weekly using a damp mop. Add R2X Hard Surface Cleaner to a bucket and apply it your floor to remove dirt and grime. There is no need to rinse this material off of your floor.
