Developing Fitness Goals
Developing a fitness program depends on your goals, if you are just trying to lose a few pounds you can achieve this by something as simple as improving your eating habits or a few thirty minute aerobic workouts a week.
Doing both will improve your results and bring them quicker as well, some people go on a diet and lose the weight they want to then go back to eating the way they did.
They put back the weight they lost and wonder why, when you change your diet you need to make it a permanent change.
For this reason I never recommend a diet, I suggest better eating habits.
With today's fast paced lives and all the fast food available it can be difficult to maintain proper eating habits, it takes work and planning but it does get easier and actually becomes natural over time.
Before we know it we are buying quality food without a second thought, we learned where to eat out that provides healthy meals.
Some people have to improve their eating for health reasons so their goal is set for them, It would please me if everyone started eating right before their health got to that point, sadly this not the case.
The fast food that is being eaten actually hurts us, the amount of salt that is in some of it is astounding and it is no wonder why so many people have high blood pressure.
I researched this and found there are meals that have three times the recommended daily allowance of sodium in one meal, there is way to much processed food available.
All the protein and nutrients are processed out and we are left with calorie dense food that are bodies have major difficulties digesting, then there are so many sweets and candies advertised that we accept something that would be an occasional treat as part of our daily diet.
We are responsible to ourselves to eat wisely, our health is at risk if we do not.
We have to be diligent in this because it is so easy to develop eating habits that not only make us overweight but can seriously hurt us.
We need to get proactive and learn what is in the food we are eating, educating ourselves to know the difference between good and bad foods will not only ensure we eat better but can be lifesaving as well.
Setting attainable goals increases our chances of success, it breaks down something that could feel overwhelming into smaller steps.
If you are looking to lose thirty pounds set a goal of five pounds to start with, reaching this will give you a sense of accomplishment, keep you positive and headed in the right direction.
