    Bow

    • 1). Pass the rope around an object. Pass the left end of the rope under the right end of the rope to create a starting knot. Make the left end of the rope into a loop.

    • 2). Pass the right end of the rope around the neck of the loop. Loop the right end of the rope and feed it into the hole that was made between the right end of the rope and the looped left end.

    • 3). Grab hold of both loops to pull the knot tight.

    Bowline- Anchor Knot

    • 1). Make a small loop in a stretch of rope. Ensure you leave adequate space between the loop and the working end of the rope, to make a bigger loop.

    • 2). Pass the working end of the rope around a secure object such as an anchor ring.

    • 3). Pass the working end of the rope up and through the small loop in the rope.

    • 4). Pass the working end of the rope around the lower side of the neck of the loop.

    • 5). Feed the working end of the rope back down into the small loop. Pull on the ends to secure the knot.

Sheet Bend- Secure Two Ropes of Different Diameter Together

    • 1). Make a loop in the bit of rope with the larger diameter.

    • 2). Pass the working end of the other piece of rope up through the loop. Feed it under and around the neck of the loop.

    • 3). Pass the working end of the rope back into the loop of the larger rope. Cross it under the path created by the rope when it entered the loop.

    • 4). Pull the ends tight to secure the knot.
