    • 1). Cut a strand of leather cord twice as long as the desired length of the lanyard.

    • 2). Slide a lanyard clip to the center of the leather strand. Hold the ends of the leather cord together.

    • 3). Add the turquoise and silver beads alternately over both ends of the leather cord. Slide the beads to the top of the lanyard clip. The beads are added decoration; use any type of bead that you like, or none at all. If you prefer a plain leather lanyard, tie a knot in the cord 2 to 3 inches from the lanyard clip.

    • 4). Tie a tight double overhand knot in the leather cord at the top of the last bead. Cover the leather knot with jeweler's glue. Let the glue dry. Separate the cords.

    • 5). Dip the open end of one leather cord in jeweler's glue. Insert the glue-covered leather into the spring end of a spring coil end cap. Press the coil into the leather with flat nose pliers. Repeat this step to add a coil end to the other open end of the leather cord. Allow the glue to dry.

    • 6). Open a jump ring with round nose pliers. Connect one section of the clasp to one of the closed loops on one of the spring coil ends with the jump ring. Close the ring. Repeat this step to connect the other part of the clasp to the loop on the second spring coil end.
