    • Just about an hour's drive south of Rochester and Buffalo, at the western end of Allegany County lies the town of Cuba, New York. About 4,000 people call this 19th Century town home. Though small, visitors will find that there is no lack of things to do and see in and around town.

    Oil Springs Indian Reservation

    • Oil Springs Indian Reservation lies near Cuba on the border of Cattaraugus and Allegany Counties. No permanent Seneca residents live on the reservation, however several businesses do call it home. It is also the home of the Seneca Oil Spring, where in 1627 Franciscan Missionary Joseph de La Roche Daillon made the first recorded observation of oil in North America.

    Empire City Farms

    • Referred to as "The Block Barn" because of its unique construction, the McKinney Stables of Empire City Farms is a historic barn built in 1909 by New York city pawnbroker William Simpson, Jr. Once the home of two world-famous trotters, it was also used to raise the first Shetland Ponies introduced to the Americas.

    South Street Historic District

    • Encompassing a quarter-mile section of South Street, the South Street Historic District consists of 37 residences and 3 churches built between 1840 and 1940. Both the State and National Historic Registers designated it a historic neighborhood in 1988.

    • An important element of Western New York's economy since the 19th Century, cheese making is celebrated by The Cuba Cheese Museum.     Garlic Festival

    • An annual event at Empire City Farms since 2006, the Garlic Festival celebrates garlic in all its myriad forms. The festival offers lectures, cooking contests, growing contests, demonstrations and performances by local talent. The festival vendors' areas features local artisans, area restaurants, merchants and other local businesses.

    Seneca Nation of Indians

    • The Seneca Nation operates several businesses throughout Western New York including Seneca Allegany Casino & Hotel, Seneca Niagara Casino Hotel, Seneca Gaming & Entertainment and Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino. Other attractions include the Seneca-Iroquois Museum, the Highbanks Campground, and annual festivals such as the Annual Seneca Veteran's Powwow and the Fall Festival. The festivals feature arts, crafts, traditional cuisine, music and dancing.
