Quick Tips for Buying Table Lamps

With choices in plenty, it would be quite a challenge to select the right table lamp for your home office. Here are a few tips about selecting the right table lamp for your home office interiors.
Placement
The placement of the lamp amongst your home office furniture items would be a major factor. Always remember that table lamps have multi-utility accessories and could be used in the home, including in the home office. A work desk table would accommodate the office accessories kept on the table which could benefit from the light of a lamp with more vertical height. A lamp with lesser verticality would be a better choice if it were to be placed on a dining table or conference table so that the light would be given out evenly when placed at the center.
Weight
The weight of the lamp is another important criterion and should be taken into account. Heavy and wide shaped lamps should be avoided in frequently-used areas. They are susceptible to being bumped by children or even elders if they were to overhang beyond the surface area of the table. However, a table lamp with a heavy base and a tapering top would be steadier and safer. Choose such lamps on your work desk as they will also be a good lighting option.
Light Intensity
Another factor that needs to be considered is the light intensity of the lamp. If the purpose was to just illuminate the room and be decorative, then a lamp with low intensity would be good enough. You would require a bulb of about 150 watts for reading purpose. If the intensity of light is too high, it could be harsh for the eyes and make reading difficult.
Color and Style
The shade of the lamp is a very important part of table lamps and should match the contours of the other home office furniture. A white or translucent shade would allow greater diffusion of light while darker colors could be used for low intensity glows. If you would like for your light to look stylish and at the same time be focused over your work area, choose bowl pendant light fixtures that are available in a wide variety of options. The size of the bowl depends on the area that needs illumination.
