Social Security, Health Care and Ted Kennedy

Social Security and Health Care : The Facts As one of the icons of the far left passed away this week, it has created a lot of controversyabout health care, social security, and other so called benefits the government bestows upon us.
They make it sound like most of us wouldn't have the good sense to get in out of the rain if some government official didn't tell us it was cloudy.
I heard it said the other day by a senator that most Americans who are receiving social security really appreciate it.
Appreciate it!!It's not a gift! It's our money to begin with, Congress takes it from us and our employers, spends it, andgive back a small pittance.
Then they act like they are doing us a favor by returning some of it.
Do the leg work yourself, find a financial calculator on line and calculate how much money you would have after 40 years if the $200 a weekyou and your employer contribute to social security was invested at a conservative 7%.
$200 is probably the average amount of money each working individual invests a week in social security, including their employers contribution.
I think you will find that at age 65 your income would be a heck of a lot more than social security is going to hand out.
Plus , one could just live off the interest and never touch the principle, the money would never run out.
Following are some facts that the liberals fail to mention when it comes to OUR social security.
The Architect of Social Security was Franklin Roosevelt during the depression.
He promised that participation in the program would be completely voluntary, that the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1400 of their annual income into the program.
That the money the participants elected to put into the program would be tax deductible, and the money would go into a trust fund and not be used for anything else.
He also promised that the incomeone derived at retirement from social securitywould never be taxed.
It was rather ingenious, he set the retirement age at 65 and the life expectancy at that time was 64, how convenient! Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a social security check and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the Federal government to 'Put Away' "OUR" money-- you may be interested in the following: In 1958, the democratically controlled congress voted to remove some of the funds from social security and put them in the general fund, congress logic at the time was there was so much money in social security, it would never run out.
(I was only 14 at the time and I knew that was a really bad idea.
) Then in the 1960s, Lyndon Johnson and the democratically controlled congress took social security money from the trust fund and put it in the general fund so congress could spend it any way they see fit.
Then under the Carter administration illegal immigrants were allowed to collect social security, even though they never paid into it, the same applies today, plus they want illegal immigrants to be eligible for health care .
In the meantime, social security is being taxed, and is in the process of going broke, do you want the same for your health care? As you can see, democrats are largely responsible for the current mess social security is presently in, but they keep claiming that republicans want to take away social security, this couldn't be further from the truth.
For the first time in years there will be no raise for social security recipients, thank you, Obama.
And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it! Maybe changes Will evolve! ...
Maybe not, some Democrats are awfully sure of what isn't so.
There has been a lot of talk these days about people spitting on the grave of Ted Kennedy, no one is spitting on his grave, however because of his policies and those of his fellow cronies, we as a country have continuously crept toward socialism and worse.
In many areas there are laws against humans feeding wildlife and making them dependent on humans for survival, too bad the same laws don't apply to congress.
I don't know about you but I like freedom of choice,I don't want the government deciding what kind of car I drive, what I eat, where or when I go to the doctor or what kind of medicine I take.
If I some day, my physical condition deteriorates and I decide to not take a treatment or medication of some kind to prolong my life, that is my decision, not the government.
Senator Kennedy, I realize no one is perfect and that one of your favorite pastimes earlier in life was sitting round telling Chappaquiddick jokes, no big deal.
I realize that you probably had noble intentions while doing every thing you could to convert our country to socialism, thinking that most people want a world where everything is given to them and done for them.
However this is not the way of the human soul.
Most people are a lot happier when they earn their own way.
We don't want your help, you don't know how to lead, can't follow,so just get out of the way and letus make it on our own.
If one desires a life under Communism, Marxism, or Socialism, more power to you! There are plenty of countries that will give you that way of life, you are free to migrate any time you like.
Leave America for us freedom lovers.
May Senator Kennedy, and his policies rest in peace.
A Government that is strong enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have".
Thomas Jefferson
