Whether it's for a birthday or any other type of occasion where a party is involved, treasure hunting is a fun addition that will keep children excited and interested.
This is particularly true for young children that need to be kept busy throughout the duration of your party.
Consider throwing a treasure hunt in conjunction with a theme centered around Yo Gabba Gabba party supplies.
Children love this television show.
If you have young children, this is something you're already well aware of.
To throw a Yo Gabba Gabba treasure hunt during a party, you'll need the following:
  1. Yo Gabba Gabba party supplies: if you're throwing a party for toddlers, consider setting up the treasure hunt using party decorations, as well as other party supplies to help them figure out where the treasure is located.
For example, you could draw a map containing pictures of Brobee, Todee, Muno, and Foofa, and then set up the treasure hunt using cutouts of each character leading to the treasure.
  2. Inspired foods: in addition to the party supplies, you could also have a treasure hunt using party foods.
This is not to say that you should create a trail of cupcakes leading to the treasure because that would get messy.
You could, however, create a trail of wrapped candies, or other wrapped goodies.
Think about how a dotted line on the treasure map would look with all the curls, swirls, and zig zags when creating the path of wrapped candy.
You could also decorate the cupcakes with icing using the retro colors from the show, which are yellow, red, pink, green, orange, and blue.
  3. Party favors: the treasure the kids are led to (or multiple treasures depending on how you'd like to set up your hunt) could contain Yo Gabba Gabba party supplies and favors.
This could range anywhere from small toys, to goodie bags, to small games, and small puzzles.
Consider making these party favors and goodie bags with your children to help get them involved in the party planning process.
However, when you set up the treasure hunt and decide where "X" marks the spot, don't involve them in that portion of the planning so they can be just as surprised as their guests.
  4. Party invitations: this is where you and your children can get creative.
Rather than purchasing store-bought party invitations, cut out card stock in the shape of Brobee, Muno, Foofa, and Todee, and have your kids color them in.
You could also create mini-treasure maps with one of the characters incorporated into the invitation.
That way, guests know there will be a treasure hunt at the party.
In addition to the treasure hunt, there are a number of other games that interest children.
Have a game of musical chairs using additional party decorations.
For example, you could cover each chair used in the game with brightly colored streamers, as well as a cutout of one Yo Gabba Gabba character on each.
These cutouts are available for purchase, or you can print them out using sturdy card stock.
Don't forget to use additional Yo Gabba Gabba party supplies throughout the area of the party, as well as the areas of the treasure hunt to create an exciting and dramatic environment for all the guests.
