Meditation - Simple, Effective, Life-Enhancing

As a life coach I come across many people who want personal power, happiness and abundance; but they don't meditate.
That's like baking a cake without an emulsifier such as eggs.
Just as emulsifiers allow your oil-based liquids to blend with your water-based liquids, meditation is the emulsifier that blends your physical body with your spiritual body into a meaningful life experience.
Meditation and deep breathing bring spiritual sustenance to the body, oxygenating the cells while raising your frequency for better connectivity and receptivity to spiritual guidance.
Often people don't meditate because they have tried techniques that are overly complicated and gave up in frustration.
While there are many ways to meditate, from simply breathing to dropping grounding chords while spinning chakras and creating etheric golden nets, the simpler versions are just as effective.
Effective at what? Well, we don't always know what happens behind the scenes during meditation so I leave that to the spirit realm to sort out.
But I will say that how I feel about a meditation is tantamount to getting me to do it again.
If doing complicated meditations makes you feel spiritually connected then by all means, continue.
But if you feel frustrated and disconnected after doing thirty minutes of convoluted meditation aerobics then you're not likely to come back for more.
If that's the case, then let's opt for something a little more comfortable.
Here is a simple but effective meditation that combines three essential ingredients - intention, focus, receptivity.
First, set the intent.
Before sitting down for your meditation, visualize yourself enjoying the meditative experience.
See yourself sitting in your favorite upright position, surrounded by white light; relaxed, smiling and feeling blessed.
Now, sit down for your meditation.
Because meditation puts you in a receptive state it is a good idea to surround yourself etherically with only the highest Love.
"I ask that all the conditions and circumstances that I need to do my best and highest work be present and that all else be removed.
I acknowledge that I'm constantly surrounded by the forces of Light, Love, and Wisdom, that I am so surrounded here today that nothing else may enter.
" If your mind is easily filled with distracting thoughts, spend the first few minutes listening to a song or reciting a prayer that puts you in a spiritual frame of mind.
Make sure the song or prayer speaks to your spiritual heart and that you really absorb the words; intentionally focus on them.
Now, take a deep breath and think, "Make me resplendent.
" It's like when you go into your favorite hairstyling salon.
You simply show up, tell them what you want and let them shampoo, cut and style your hair while you relax.
You don't grab the scissors from the stylist and start cutting your hair yourself.
Same here.
If you're not exactly sure what you want to accomplish, try this: "I surrender to the divinity within me.
I am open and receptive to that which is the highest frequency, the highest vibration and the highest Love.
I am open and receptive to connecting with my spirit guides and teachers.
I am open and receptive to all abundance in my life, NOW.
" Now, focus on your breathing by counting or by "breathing in the Light" and "exhaling that which is not of the Light".
If your mind wanders, bring it back to the present moment by focusing on your brow chakra.
I find that periods of deep breathing followed by calm, light breathing helps me to get the most out of the experience.
Deep breathing helps me bridge the spiritual and physical worlds while light breathing helps me feel that connection.
Because I'm kinesthetic, feeling my guidance is an important part of my meditation.
Go into your meditation with a grateful heart rather than with expecations of grand phenomenon.
We read many stories about people who meditate and receive great visions or channeled messages.
While it is true that some people are born to visions, others have disciplined themselves to it, still others are well-intentioned but delusional and some never have any.
Regardless, if you are trying to compare your meditation story to even one other person you've lost the beauty of your own unique experience.
Let your spiritual guides give you exactly what you need as you need it.
Your role is to show up and say, "Yes, please".
You can't get it wrong.
Subtle changes (so you don't blow a circuit) are being made "behind the scenes" every time you meditate.
Even when you think nothing has happened, it has.
Trust this, and show up every day.
It takes self-discipline to be present in the quiet stillness each day; but the physical, spiritual, mental and emotional benefits will quickly outweigh any discomfort or resistance you might initially feel.
Better the "pain of discipline" than the "pain of regret" for having missed out on so much.
