So what will you do at the Red Jacket Beach Resort while the little ones are off having fun? The variety of accommodations available at the Red Jacket Beach suits every family's vacation desires. Choose one of 150 hotel-style rooms with either two queen beds or one king-size bed. All rooms have private balconies--I highly recommend the rooms on the hotel's ocean side, but for a quieter hideaway, the rooms on the river side offer more seclusion from the sounds of kids enjoying the beach. Here's another tip--there are a few rooms that have tiny, private alcove rooms with bunk beds for the kids. Ask if you can snag one if you're traveling with tots and would like a bit of privacy at night.

Red Jacket Beach Resort also has 14 rental cottages available with anywhere from two to four bedrooms.

They're the perfect choice for multigenerational vacations or for two or more families traveling together. The largest rental house sleeps 12. Some of the cottages are perched oceanside, while others have grassy yards where you'll feel right at home. The cottages are furnished with such amenities as barbecue grills, full kitchens and even highchairs for the littlest Cape Cod travelers. Save money by preparing your own meals, or splurge and order room service--it's available even to cottage guests. Many families return to the same cottage year after year, and in the summer season, they must be rented by the week. Shorter-term rentals are available in the spring and fall. According to Red Jacket Beach General Manager Tom Moore, the cottages are often reserved by mid-March, so you'll need to plan ahead.

Moore said that 70 percent of the resort's business comes from repeat guests or referrals. Consider yourself referred!
