How to Make Rocking Chair Cushion Ties
- 1). Choose your fabric. You should pick material that is either the same as your cushion or a complementary color. For instance, if your cushion is a green pattern, a solid yellow fabric might work well.
- 2). Cut four pieces of the material. Measurements should be approximately 1 inch wide and 12 inches long. This will give you plenty of length to tie the cushion.
- 3). Work one piece at a time. Fold it in half so that it is just 1/2 inch wide. Sew the edges together, on all four sides, either by hand or with a sewing machine. Do this for all four pieces.
- 4). Sew the ties onto your cushion, two on each side. One piece goes in each corner on the top and bottom of the backside of your cushion. Sew by hand with a simple stitch. Sew the tie and then sew back over it three more times in the same area. This will make a strong attahment that will not pull off when the cushion moves.
