    • Career assessments can serve many purposes and focus on a range of areas. Your individual circumstances and what you're looking to get out of the assessment is a way to identify the one(s) that apply to you. According to The Riley Guide, a career and employment sources directory, career assessments are divided into the following categories: personality and type Indicators, interest inventories, skill surveys and values inventories. Personality and type indicators are centered on a person's psychological type. Interest inventories seek to calculate what a person finds most intriguing and careers that tie in with those interests. Skill surveys aim to help a person identify their aptitudes and qualifications, then illustrate the numerous job areas where those skills are needed. Finally, values inventories are individual assessments, concerning what a person finds important and what stimulates or motivates her.
