How to Treat Mold on Walls
- 1). Scrub mold on tile, cement or painted walls with a solution of 1/2 cup chlorine bleach and 1 gallon warm water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Seal the wall with a primer and paint it with a mold-resistant paint.
- 2). Sand mold from unfinished wood with a sander. Seal with paint or polyurethane to prevent mold from returning.
- 3). Cut unpainted drywall with a cutter and replace. Moldy drywall can't be cleaned and the mold quickly spreads. Paint drywall with a mold-resistant paint.
