The importance of balancing supplements and food

Today in the fitness and wellness world supplements have become the in craze almost everyone is taking some sort of supplement, whether it is for the joints, heart, muscles or skin. The supplement industry is a huge ever growing industry and in my opinion if we can cure illness and address issues with supplements then great let's do it. The aim of this article is to really pin point the ever growing over use of supplements to the detriment to food, which for health and also achieving your particular goal is a no no, because fundamentally your body right now requires food.
Yes supplements have fantastic potential and use from supplying you with the right ratio of essential fatty acids, to the right combination and amount of vitamins and minerals, to supplying you with the essential amino acids. However they are supplements, food should not be replaced. The body evolves and right now in our evolution it wasn't long ago we were hunting our food every day with spears. It wasn't long ago that we ate purely whole foods. In terms of evolution because those times were not very long ago it is essential that we supply our cells with good quality natural foods. I don't want to turn this article into a natural, organic food debate we can do that another time. What I want to emphasize right now, is that having to many supplements in our diets will cause damage because in terms of evolution it is a foreign body.
Now im not anti supplements by any means I take them in my own nutritional plan, what the emphasis of this article is designed to do is highlight that eat a well balanced nutritional and diet approach and then use supplements to fill voids or provide extra support if your body needs it. Avoid having a 100% supplement diet like so many are today and this is resulting in illness and tiredness in the folks that are doing it.
Some of the better supplements if you would like some advice when choosing are the following. Green drinks are fantastic for health and optimizing your body's energy levels. They bring your body back in sync with its alkalized level. Essential amino acids and protein shakes are good for providing adequate protein requirements and needs. Avoid the ones with artificial flavorings in. Essential fatty acids are also superb addition to provide joints, skin, and hair with the right fats and also to help with the heart, Udos oil seems to be the recommended type because of its ideal ration of omegas 3, 6, and 9. Finally definitely supplement with a good quality multi-vitamin that will provide good levels of vitamins and minerals for health and functioning.
