How to Operate a Bissell Green Machine
- 1). Insert the back edge of the flex hose clip into the slot on the front of the Bissell Green Machine until it snaps into place. Slide the lower plate of the flex hose storage bracket into the slot on the rear of the unit. Make sure the screw hole on the bracket lines up with the hole on the unit's housing. Insert and tighten the screw that came with the Green Machine to secure the bracket onto the unit.
- 2). Wrap the flex hose around the machine and set the grip into the storage bracket on the rear of the unit. Rotate the latch counter-clockwise to hold the hose in place.
- 3). Lift up on the cleaning solution tank and pull it toward you to remove it from the Green Machine unit. Unscrew the cap and remove the bottle insert from the tank. Add Bissell Little Green cleaning solution up to the designated "Formula" fill line. Fill the tank with hot water up to the "Water" fill line. Replace the bottle insert, tighten the cap and slide the cleaning solution tank back into place on the unit.
- 4). Unlock the vacuum hose by rotating the storage bracket latch clockwise. Unwrap the hose from the unit and connect the attachment of your choice to the end of the spray trigger assembly. Be sure the locking button has snapped into place before pulling the trigger.
- 5). Unwrap the power cord from the unit's storage bracket and plug it into a nearby electrical outlet. Press down on the trigger and hold it for a few seconds until you see the cleaning solution beginning to spray.
- 1). Hold the nozzle 1 inch above the stained carpet and press the trigger to thoroughly spray the area. Use the brush attachment to scrub out the stain. For deep down stains, spray more cleaner on the area while using the brush and vacuum to flush out the dirt.
- 2). Press down on the brush attachment while pulling it toward you to vacuum any dirt and cleaning solution. Repeat this until the vacuum is no longer picking up any dirt. Finish with several more passes of the brush tool without using the spray nozzle. This will pull out the moisture from the cleaning solution and allow your carpet to dry faster.
- 3). Unplug your Bissell Green Machine from the electrical outlet when you are done cleaning. Remove the collection tank for dirty water and empty it out after every use of the machine. You can leave the cleaning solution/water mixture in the clean tank for the next use.
- 4). Press the button lock on the spray trigger assembly to remove any attachments. Do not twist the attachment when trying to remove it. Pull it straight off of the trigger. Rinse the attachment in a sink or outside with your garden hose to prevent debris and dirt from becoming caked on. Wipe off the end of the spray nozzle to be sure there is no accumulated dirt left on the machine. You can use a soft brush to clean the inside of the nozzle if necessary.
- 5). Wrap the power cord around the storage bracket. Wrap the vacuum hose around the unit and latch the nozzle back into place. Store your Bissell Little Green Machine in a dry area between 40 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
