    • 1). Test the enhancer of your choice on an inconspicuous part of the marble surface. This will enable you to see exactly how much darker the stone will become and ensure that you are happy with the result. There are numerous products on the market so choose carefully based on your desired outcome.

    • 2). Prepare the surface of the marble by clearing it of any dust or debris and then washing it with a good cleanser. Rinse away any traces of residue and allow the marble to dry thoroughly.

    • 3). Spread the enhancer over the surface of the marble using the paint pads or brushes, and allow it to be absorbed into the surface of the stone. Some manufacturers recommend using a sprayer. Try to ensure the enhancer is spread out as evenly as possible so the darkening effect is consistent. Wipe away any pools of excess enhancer with lint-free cloths.

    • 4). Allow the first coat to dry. This can take between 30 minutes and two hours depending on the product. Apply a second coat. Further coats may be required to achieve the desired level of darkening.

    • 5). Refrain from walking on the surface for several hours and keep it free from liquids or dirt for up to two days. This will allow the product to cure and ensure it provides the maximum level of protection.
