Get a Home Security Sign!

Burglar alarm systems add a level of peace and safety to your home and will make an intruder think twice about entering your home.
However, in this day of economic downturn a few things can happen.
First, the amount of burglaries and crime increase when the economy is poor.
Second, there is a very good chance you can't afford to purchase a system.
They can range from an inexpensive do it yourself model to a fully monitored and professionally installed system.
Even with the less expensive models they can be too expensive for some families.
Something to consider is taking the most basic step possible to provide a small level of security for your family.
Make sure you have good solid locks on your doors and window, keep the exterior of your home bright and shrubs trimmed and place simple stick in window jams to add a little extra layer of safety.
However, the one thing you can do that will make an intruder think twice about entering your home is a simple sign that states you have a security system.
You may not think this would be enough; however you might be amazed at just how affective this is.
You can pick these up at specialty stores, large box store outlets and through online stores like eBay or amazon.
There are several different types of signs; some look much more professional and believable than others.
Look at a sign and see if it looks real to you.
Something that a sign should state is that it is a monitored system, which means that should someone break in to your home it will notify an offsite facility that will then notify the police.
This extra layer can concern many criminals into thinking twice about choosing your home to invade.
The exterior lights, solid door lock and trimmed shrubs will also lessen the chance of someone invading your home.
The downside to all of this is probably obvious, if someone breaks in the sign does you no good and you are left with nothing more than a bluff.
So consider a full alarm system and not just a sign, but as stated if you can't afford it at least take some steps to protect your home and give you peace of mind.
Little steps can yield big results, sometimes enough to protect your family.
Take time and do research before assuming you can't afford a system.
