How to Make a Mold of Interlocking Hands
- 1). Place a few blocks of paraffin wax in a large pot and melt the wax over low heat.
- 2). Fill a plastic tub with ice and water.
- 3). Remove rings and bracelets and roll up your sleeves.
- 4). Coat both hands with a very thin coat of petroleum jelly.
- 5). Pour the melted paraffin wax into a plastic basin. It must be deep enough to allow you to fully immerse your interlocked hands.
- 6). Interlock hands and dip them into the hot wax.
- 7). Immediately remove your interlocked hands from the hot wax and dip them into the basin of cold water.
- 8). Remove your wax-coated interlocked hands from the cold water and dab off the water droplets with a paper towel.
- 9). Repeat Steps 6, 7 and 8 until you've built up a total of three layers of wax.
- 10
Gently and carefully slide the hands out of the wax. Remove one hand at a time. - 11
Refine the shape of the hands, particularly around the wrist area. It may be deformed slightly as the hands are removed from the wax shell. - 12
Ladle hot wax into the wax shell to fill it.
