    • 1). Start with a square piece of paper facing you so the paper is in a diamond shape. Fold the paper in half, so the left corner meets with the right corner, creating a triangle, and crease.

    • 2). Unfold the paper and then fold in half, so the top corner meets the bottom corner, creating a triangle. Crease.

    • 3). Unfold the paper. Fold each corner so that the tip of the corner is touching the axis of the folds from Steps 1 and 2, creating a square. Crease.

    • 4). Unfold the paper. The creases in the paper will create a square with an axis through it. Take the top left side of the paper and fold it into a triangle so that the side edge is on the middle of the axis, and the bottom of the newly formed triangle is just above the bottom of the crease square. Crease.

    • 5). Fold the bottom corner up so the tip is touching the bottom of the crease square. Crease.

    • 6). Fold the left edge over so the left corner is now touching the bottom corner of the triangle created in Step 4. Crease.

    • 7). Fold the top corner backward just above the axis line at the point of the triangle from Step 4, creating a straight edge on the top of the paper. Crease.

    • 8). Fold the right corner in so the tip is touching the outer edge of the triangle on the left side. Crease.

    • 9). Flip your paper over and you'll see the letter J.
