2008 Tabby Cats Picture Gallery: Mac

This is Mac looking all tuckered out in this photo. My boyfriend and I adopted him a little over two years ago. When we first adopted Mac he was very skittish, staying underneath our bed and crying all night long. I felt so bad for him. I made it my goal to coax Mac out of his lair of the bed, and spent much of my free time sitting in the bedroom with him, and gently talking to him so he could get used to my voice.

Occasionally I would also tempt him with some tuna which he loved. After about two consecutive days of this, Mac eventually allowed me to pet him, but only while he was still safe under the bed. He was such a little lover! In those days he would poke his little head out and rub it all over my hand while purring loudly.
Today, Mac has the entire run of the house. About a week after we adopted him he finally felt at home and began exploring. Now instead of under the bed, his favorite place to sleep is on my lap. Whenever I sit down he is sure to follow me and sit with me. His skittish days are long over and now when we have company he boldly greets people along with me.

When he isn't around people, Mac finds time to antagonize his sister, Pita. This little guy is not just a lover, but is also a prankster. The two love to wrestle each other on their cat condo, which we got them for Christmas. Whenever someone stops by they remark on how spoiled our cats are. There are toys and cat furniture everywhere.

I don't like to think of them as spoiled, just well loved.
