Children love getting creative and getting their hands dirty making crafts. Share quality time and your religious beliefs with your child by making Noah's Ark crafts together at home. - Read a book about Noah's Ark and look at pictures of the ark with your child. Color a paper plate brown with crayon or marker, then fold it in half. Trace and cut out the top portion of the ark, which should look like a square with a roof on top. Cut a slit in the middle of the paper plate where it is folded to create an opening to slide in the top portion of the ark, and secure it with glue or staples. Draw animal pictures on the ark, or cut out pictures of animals from magazines and attach them with tape or glue.
- Break two hard taco shells in half, as well as two graham cracker squares. Lay three taco shells flat on a large piece of wax paper, overlapping them to form the shape of an ark. Place two graham cracker pieces above the taco shells, centered, and then add a third graham cracker piece on top of the other two. Use pretzels to create a roof on top. Position animal crackers in pairs around the top of the taco shells, and use peanut butter or cake frosting to attach everything together, if desired. Talk about the story of Noah's Ark with your child before eating the craft.
- Paint a small clay pot and a small saucer brown. Turn the pot upside down, and attach it to the saucer with glue, with the saucer facing up. Cut out rectangular-shaped pieces of construction paper for the windows, and glue them onto the pot. Alternatively, paint the windows onto the pot, or use foam stickers. Discuss with your child what types of animals would be seen on the ark, teaching her that there need to be two of each. Draw and cut out animals to add to the ark, or use foam stickers for this as well.
