How to Hang a Bearskin Rug
- 1). Hold your bearskin up to the wall, with a friend's help, and trace around it with chalk. Measure how far apart the rings are on the underside of the skin and make chalk marks that far apart about an inch inside your outline. For instance, if the rings are 6 inches apart, make your chalk marks 6 inches apart inside the outline.
- 2). Drive a finishing nail into each of your chalk marks. Hold the nails at a 45-degree angle to the wall so the head points toward the ceiling. Tap them lightly with a hammer until driven about halfway into the wall.
- 3). Dust away the chalk marks with a cloth. Have someone help you slip the rings on your bearskin over the finishing nails. Hang the head and wrists first, then lift the shoulders into place.
