DIY: Bumblebee Costumes for Adults
- 1). Squirt a small amount of hot glue onto the black headband -- make two dabs about 2 inches apart. Wrap the ends of the black pipe cleaners around the headband, placing one pipe cleaner on each spot of glue. You can curl the tops of the pipe cleaners to make spirals, or leave them as they are.
- 2). Put on the black shirt. Wrap the yellow electrical tape in circles around the sleeves and body of the shirt, leaving a few inches of room between the circles of yellow. Put on the pants, shorts or skirt. If you are using pants for your costume you can repeat the process of applying yellow tape on the pant legs. If you are using shorts or a skirt you do not need to put electrical tape on it. You can give your costume a more adult look by applying body glitter to any bare skin.
- 3). Measure a 6-foot length of craft wire and cut it with the wire cutters. Shape the craft wire into oval or triangular wings.
- 4). Lay the white mesh fabric over the wire wing shape. Cut a large enough piece of mesh to wrap the wing shape entirely. Glue the mesh to the wire frame with the hot glue gun. Allow 15 minutes for the glue to dry.
- 5). Remove the black shirt. Glue the wing piece to the back of the shirt with the hot glue gun. Allow 15 minutes to dry and then put the shirt back on. Put on the headband.
