Game, born Jayceon Taylor, was born in Los Angeles, but raised in Compton, CA. Entering foster care at age 7, Game's childhood was anything but pleasant. At 13, with both parents involved in gangs, Game's older brother, Jevon, died from gunshot wounds. Losing a basketball scholarship due to drug possession, Game then moved back to Compton and started dealing drugs. It was not long before he found himself shot 5 times, and in a coma. While recovering, he studied all the classic hip hop albums, and formed The Black Wall Street Records with his big brother, Big Fase. It was You Know What It Is, the first of Game mixtapes, that snagged him a deal with the independent label Get Low Recordz.

The owner of Bad Boy Records, Sean Combs, got his hands on Game mixtapes and was close to signing Game to his label. However, it was Dr. Dre who finally signed Game to Aftermath Entertainment, in 2003. After that, Game spent 2years working on his debut album, all the while appearing in clothing ads and TV commercials. He also guest starred on albums for G-Unit, Diplomats, and DJ Green Lantern, his way of making himself known in the hip hop world.

"Westside Story", his first single from his debut album, The Documentary, was released in 2004. Not long after, the hip hop music singles "How We Do" and "Hate It Or Love It" made their way onto the hip hop music charts. In 2006, after signing with Geffen Records, Doctor's Advocate, his sophomore album, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200.

Known for feuding with 50 cent, Suge Knight, Rock-A-fella Records and Lil Eazy-E, Game has been accused of everything from stealing lyrics to stealing jewelry. LAX, Games's 3rd album, dropped in August of 2008, reaching #2 on the Billboard 200. Feuds ended, Game resigned back with Dr. Dre and Aftermath Entertainment in 2009, and his 4th hip hop album, The R.E.D. Album, is set to be released in late 2011.

Although Game had a rough start, it seems that resigning with his mentor, Dr. Dre, has brought him back full circle. Game mixtapes earned him an almost instant record deal, but also led to an abundance of feuds and fall outs. Ending the feuds and putting the past behind him, it is clear that Game is more focused now than ever on his career.
