How to Customize DJ Headphones

    • 1). Use your stage name or aspects of your DJ name on your headphones. Stencils in the shape of letters work well to add initials, full names or words that reflect your style or music. Spray paint is an effective way to stencil letters onto the surface of the earphone or connecting band.

    • 2). Wrap colorful ribbon or yarn around the band of the headphones. Use ribbon with texture, such as brightly colored fuzz or tassels. Secure ends of ribbon with a dime size drop of glue at each end.

    • 3). Stickers and decals are a simple way to decorate headphones without extra materials. For long-term use, stickers last longer, but decals are efficient for rented equipment because they peel off easily from plastic. Be sure to measure the surface area of the earphone cup before creating or purchasing stickers or decals to ensure the design fits onto the surface.

    • 4). Use colorful duct tape around the connecting band of the headphones. Duct tape comes in nearly all colors, including glow-in-the-dark shades, and can be applied directly to a set of headphones on both the band and the earphone cups. Stick the end of a piece of duct tape to the band and loop over continuously until the band is covered. Cut out shapes in duct tape and apply directly to the earphones for a vectorized look.

    • 5). Attach alternative accessories such as feathers or beads using a drop of glue at the base. Secure with enough glue to withstand long-term use.
